Overview
The integration of AI into program administration offers transformative potential to streamline operations and enhance educational outcomes. This webinar explores three innovative AI applications designed to support internal medicine programs: 1) a chatbot trained on program policies to address frequently asked questions by residents. This AI-driven tool provides instant, accurate responses, reducing the administrative burden on program staff and ensuring residents have access to up-to-date information at all times. 2) An application using retrieval-augmented generation technology capable of creating questions in the style of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). This application can utilize various types of input, including lecture content, journal articles, and clinical case reports. This tool aids faculty in developing high-quality assessment materials, promoting active learning and board preparation. 3) Utilization of an AI assistant in day-to-day processes. This assistant analyzes group discussion, summarizes key points, identifies areas of agreement and disagreement, suggests action items, and generates follow-up questions in real time. By automating these tasks, the AI assistant enhances meeting efficiency and ensures that follow-up actions are clearly defined and tracked. Participants will discover and brainstorm how AI can enhance program administration, improve resident support, and elevate the overall educational experience in internal medicine training.
