The Early Career Educator's Guide to Presenting at a National Meeting
Active learning transpires, engaging participants and making the educational process fun again. Workshops and posters are a mainstay at professional society meetings - workshops for faculty development and posters to disseminate scholarship. The intention is for problem solving, sharing/adopting new ideas, and developing new skills. Have you always wanted to lead workshops or present posters? But where do you start? Using the session as a model, the group will dissect the components of creating a workshop - topic selection, session structure review, designing activities and "take-home"; products. In addtion, the participants will turn an accepted abstract into a poster for presentation. We will also review how to approach development of an abstract submission including which factors to consider.. The sessioin will conclude with tips for a competitive abstract submission. Templates and tips will be provided to participants.
