Teaching Health Equity through Innovative Community-Based Rotations
Understanding the impact of health equity on patient care and then putting it into practice can be challenging. We present three programs (university and community based) that have incorporated experiential learning into their curriculum to understand health equity issues such as food insecurity from a patient's perspective, barriers to care for immigrant communities, and how to advocate for change. We will provide opportunities to share other programs best practices along with specific curriculum materials from our program innovations.
