The elective "From Clinical Skills to Career Success: An Elective on Healthcare Economics and Career Development in Medicine for Resident Physicians," is designed to provide resident physicians with a comprehensive understanding of financial concepts in medicine and offer guidance to help them excel in professional development and education. Through mentorship, independent research, lectures, and shadowing physicians, residents will explore concepts in leadership, healthcare management, and career planning. Prior to the elective, residents will develop a list of personal goals and create a "business plan" to outline their career path based on core learning objectives. Overall, this elective is designed to provide resident physicians with the knowledge and practical skills in financial literacy as it relates to their career in healthcare.
