Overview
Change is inevitable and understanding its dynamics is crucial for both leaders driving change and individuals adapting to it. There are three critical elements of change as described by the Heath brothers in Switch: thinking, emotion, and environment. It is the interplay of these elements that makes change challenging. Further, one's personality influences one's approach to change management. Being able to lead change is facilitated by navigating both the components of change as well as the personalities of the members of one's team and their interactions. These skills are critical in GME and during transitions. In this highly interactive workshop, participants will embark on a journey of self-discovery and collaborative learning. Small groups, broken out by personality types, will use a change management framework to work through a case to both utilize the framework while simultaneously gaining a greater appreciation of the dynamic interplay between personality types and change management. Educational methodologies employed in this session will include: taking a personality quiz in advance, mini-didactic, small group problem solving, large group reflection sharing and large group discussion/brain share. This workshop will provide educational leaders tangible skills to be more effective change agents in their organization.
