Overview
Accurately measuring faculty clinical productivity and performance is crucial for making informed decisions on promotions, compensation and future recruitment. Solely focusing on RVU production often fails to capture the full scope of clinical work, leading to an incomplete understanding of faculty contributions and an ineffective tool to meet benchmarks and targets. To address this issue, the Northwestern University Division of Cardiology developed a collaborative process that enhances that collaboration of medical and administrative leadership that aligns improvement efforts through meaningful engagement and partnership. This workshop will outline quarterly productivity meetings, designed to promote open dialogue and continuous feedback. By focusing on both quantitative data and qualitative insights from physician leaders, the division aimed to create a more comprehensive picture of faculty productivity. This approach encourages ongoing conversations among faculty, section chiefs, and division chiefs, aligning individual and section performance with the broader goals of the institution. This partnership between medical leadership and the administrative team is essential for driving clinical faculty productivity. Attendees will learn about the new process and criteria, and how these expanded productivity discussions have been integrated into the administrative workflow. This workshop will provide valuable insights into how a collaborative approach can drive individual faculty performance and overall departmental success.
