
Overview
"Objectives:
1. Understand LCME terms
2. Divide participants into breakouts to discuss responsibilities of assisting in the preparation for an LCME visit
3. Review simple 18-month timeline being used in preparation of an LCME Visit and share ways to prepare
4. Develop a LCME best practices toolkit
We plan to do a Jeopardy game reviewing LCME terms and then start breakout/participant involvement activity. We will bring the group back and overview the preparation of an LCME visit.
We will have the participants designate one of the following categories:
1. Never been though a LCME visit/new to the position
2. Recent visit/preparing for the visit
3. After visit/follow up.
Breakout tables will consist of at least one from each of the categories to share collective knowledge/wisdom on the following topics:
a. Best Tips
b. What would you have liked to have known
c. Flexibility
d. Possible surprises
e. Controlling emotions
f. Reach out to colleagues
We will bring the group back to discuss what they topics discussed and start posting pearls and review the timeline and preparation items. The goal is the participants can leave with an LCME best practices toolkit."
