Overview
Creating and implementing a holistic review process for residency selection can feel daunting. This workshop will present a simple approach to creating and using holistic review throughout the recruitment process -- from creating a rubric for interview selection to designing structured interview questions that align with your program mission and aims. Participants will be introduced to strategies to create or refine their programs values and aims. They will be given information on how to use these aims to create a weighted rubric for interview selection and will be given a worksheet to aid in creating their own rubric. Presenters will also share one programs experience using structured interview questions for two recruitment cycles. Participants will learn strategies to design structured interview questions that align with their programs mission, values, and aims for use on the interview day. Participants will leave this session with the tools to create or refine their program mission and values, create a partial holistic review rubric, and design structured interview questions to select the ideal candidates for their program.
