Using the Milestones and a Trainee Run CCC to Assess Faculty Teaching
Course Overview
This webinar will show how programs can take the ACGME Milestones for general internal medicine or their specialty and adapt the form to be used as an assessment form by their trainees to provide feedback on faculty teaching. Presenters will show the process of completing the new form and getting feedback to the faculty. The first part of the webinar will show attendees how to critically look at their Milestones document and adjust many of the subcompetencies to the level 5. For subcomptencies that do not “fit” faculty teaching skills, these are adjusted to fit teaching. Once all the subcompetencies are adjusted, then, the form is created by using a Likert Scale. Presenters will teach attendees how to use their new forms. This process consists of three parts---electronic review by the trainees, collated results discussed at a trainee-run CCC meeting, a final result that is sent to the program director. By the end of the webinar, attendees will come out with the tools needed to create an assessment form and the steps to complete the process of assessment.Speakers
